Saving Private Ryan (1998)

"I just know that every man I kill, the farther away from home I feel".

This 1998 epic war drama film needs no introduction. This film is set during the World War II period during the invasion of Normandy. Directed by the one and only Steven Speilberg, this film is famous for its graphical depiction of war and especially its opening half an hour which depicts the Omaha Beach assault of 1944. With John H. Miller (Tom Hanks ) in the lead as the US Army Ranger Captain and the squad comprising of several amazing actors as they search for a paratrooper Private James Francis Ryan (Matt Damon) who was the last surviving brother of four servicemen.

The film received several positive reviews or may I frame it as amazing reviews for the film, cast, and the crew. And also it received a significant return at the box office collection grossing up to 481 million USD for a budget of 70 million USD. The film was also nominated for 11 Academy Awards with Steven Speilberg securing his second Academy Award for Best Director and four more.

All the accolades aside this film is a must watch for all the viewers those who haven't watched it yet and those who have they too can join as it never gets old. It shows the war consequences and horror behind it and what our soldier fighting at the border does for us without being appreciated as they should be. You will fall in love with epic thriller /drama as soon as it opens. Whether you are action genre lover or drama doesn't matter over here as this film is a feast for everyone out there. You just cannot miss the opportunity to watch this one.
